*(Mumia Abu-Jamal, since 1982, has been in solitary confinement in Pennsylvania convicted for the murder of Danny and he has yet to step up and be a man to take his just deserved punishment. He's just another classic wimp playing the worn out race card. In 2006, France named a street for Mumia Abu-Jamal; which makes me ashamed of my rich French heritage.)

I support openly gay adults in the U.S. military.
Just behave on duty and in the combat zone like straight soldiers SHOULD.
Women,minorities,et. fought for and won the right to serve in all capacities;
patriotic, educated, gay Americans deserve the same respect. Besides, our uniformed services urgently need them!
The Pentagon is firing three dedicated, law abiding, patriotic people every day simply because of their sexual orientation.
Don't give me the "Adam & Steve" hate filled retoric, or it causes morale problems- We are human beings, not animals- we should all be able to control our sexual urges especially in the battle field. Problems of rape & sexual exploitation in the military currently in combat have been HETEROSEXUALS.

Baker.jpg
Senior Corrections Officer Fred Baker was killed in the line of duty at Bayside State Prison in Leesburg, NJ on 7/30/97 while supervising over 125 inmates with no other Officers present to assist him. He was stabbed by one of those inmates who had made a home made knife, or "shank".  Because it's NJ D.O.C.  policy to separate jail house 'lovers' like chronic repeat offender Stephen Beverly from his cellmate/ lover 'Favors Ali' after fellow inmates had repeatedly complained about the sights and smells of the illegal sexual activity, Beverly killed Officer Baker; Beverly was finally sentenced to life, but is serving his time in Arizona prisons with my and your tax dollars so no body can harm HIM.
PATHETIC INJUSTICE!
Read this bull crap at the site below:

My husband is a Sgt. at Bayside- he was good friends with Officer Fred Baker...whom was slandered horribly after his death by criminals, lawyers and sleazy untrained reporters.
My husband is the most UNRACIST man yet all CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS were slandered during the BEVERLY 'circus'...I have NO respect for lawyers or media venues that 'play the race card'.
Update:
The Baker family was notified by the advocates office.
Inmate Beverly has filed for a post conviction release.
Tentative hearing date is set for February 15th, 2005
in Gloucester County Court.
UPDATE APPEAL DENIED
On Tuesday, Baker's court-appointed attorney, David A. Snyder of Haddon Heights, argued his client's conviction should be overturned. Snyder said inmates who testified on Beverly's behalf were intimidated and two jurors made potentially prejudicial comments overheard by another juror, among other reasons. In denying Beverly's request, Superior Court Judge John Tomasello ruled those issues had already been addressed at the trial and appellate levels. Observers in the packed courtroom applauded loudly after the ruling. Beverly, who was 39 when he killed Baker, was flanked by a half-dozen state and county corrections officers as he sat at the defense table. Beverly is incarcerated in Arizona as part of an exchange program between states used when inmates are thought to be in danger. He was driven to New Jersey for the hearing.
Final Justice for BAYSIDE OFFICERS....
Finally in 2004 the NJ attorney general and the US Dept. of Justice determined in a 31 page final report after 16,000 documents and video tapes were reviewed, NO charges would be filed against officers relating to alledged inmate abuse following the murder of Officer Fred Baker.
